Hello,
I’m Lynette Tyrrell an Artist and Fabric designer.
We moved to Byron Bay from Sydney over 20 years ago, with my partner and two lovely daughters. The beautiful beaches and nature walks really inspired me to start painting.
I love painting the ocean, blending the colours blues, greens, yellows to capture the flow of the water and the changing colours as the water meets the beach.
In the last 2 years I have started creating fabric designs as well - fun flowery colourful prints, which I am really excited about, something I have been dreaming about doing. I love seeing the designs come to life on fabric and fabric products.

I have wanted to paint for years, dabbled with watercolours when we lived in Sydney. When we moved to Byron Bay, whenever I walked to the beach, I thought wow I really want to paint that, especially the colours of the water.
I really love blending the colours on the wood panel canvas. I mix some colours on the palette, but often have a few colours on my brush and blend them as I paint. It helps to capture the movement of the water and the changing colours.
Fabric Design
I’m a flower child at heart, I love creating flowery soft colourful designs, mostly in pink, orange, yellow and some green for the leaves. In watercolour style, either painting with watercolours or with digital watercolour brushes.
My goal is to create beautiful fabric designs to inspire small businesses and independent fashion labels, creating clothes and fabric products that people love. Can apply for access to my Print Library
If you love to sew at home? I am also looking at collaborating with a fabric print on demand company, so you can order as much or as little fabric as you need.
Collaborating with my daughter
Have really enjoyed collaborating with my daughter. When I first printed some of my fabric designs, my daughter offered to make me some skirts, it was so exciting, then she offered to make some products …
We have created some great fabric makeup bags, sunglass cases and more. My daughter is an amazing seamstress and has brought my fabric designs to life with her sewing knowledge and skills.
They are beautifully sewn and practical, and all made with natural cotton fabric.
